Flight

Holy Carp Ladies and Gentlemen, this game blew my damn mind. Flight is one of those games that you literally cant stop playing. During my play through of the game I only recorded the first ten minutes or so, but I didn't stop playing for the better part of 2 hours.

I had to ask myself, what makes this game so damn good? I came up with three things:

  • Style
  • Progression
  • Music
Lets break down what I mean.

Style: This game has a great flair to it. Not just in graphics, but in playability as well. It is one of those games where you take the item ( a paper airplane in this instance) and toss it as hard as you can across the screen. Now these games are almost a dime a dozen and for the most part most games in this genre are poop. But this game is a diamond in the rough. It has all the things that are consistent in  the genre, items that boost you as you get close to the ground, negative wind effects, etc. But Its layout and design is far superior. As well, it has its own sets of upgrades and achievements which are an added bonus.

Progression: The progression of the game is great. Each level is set in a major city, London, Paris, etc. You have to travel 1000 meters or more to progression and each "toss" of the plane adds meters to the total counter. Each upgrade you get helps and there are all awesome as well. Magic Rainbow Stars that give boosts and an engine on a paper airplane? It doesn't get much more awesome than that.

Music: The Music style on this game is great. Mellow and catchy. Not much to say other than its awesome. I find that when commenting on a game in real time, the music definitely effects how you speak and such. Very condusive to the relaxed playing style and awesome atmospheric effects.

This game is really really good and I would recommend it above all other flash games I have played recently. GO CHECK IT OUT NOW.
